AREAS IN DC WORLD

Main Street in Salamander Township is the center of action. Here you will find the trade shop, where you can buy and sell items and, gear , treasure etc. They have the best prices in the town and you will find yourself coming back to them. Keepers Tavern is also here, a place for a hero to rest after adventuring or buy a drink to relax. Smiths weapons has some of the best prices around and you will need to visit them often to either buy or sell weapons. Also use them to identfy equipment you find while adventuring , there are other shops around the land that will do it also, but charge more. Market Lane is accessed here as is the Castle Gate.

Down Market Lane heroes find slicks den, a gambling hall to try a game of wits or luck as some might say. Heroes have left this place with a full purse while some have left without the shirt on their back. Suitors Armour is on market lane and will pay a few extra marks for any clothing you may sell them. You can buy or sell armour here and the armourer is quite handy at polishing, offering a great price. ( do this to prevent your armourments from rusting) Silver Storage is a good place to leave those items you do not absolutely have to carry with you in your pack but can not seem to part with. A bit pricey but well worth the extra space. Here on market lane heroes can also hire a boat to travel the sea of tranquility, for 50,000 maks. Visiting places such a Shangala, Hie Brazil, or Azteca.

The Fields are the first place a hero will begin adventuring in Dragon Court. Here you can pay for healings at the healers tower, head to town to buy and sell equipment, or journey to the forest (avalible at level 8 ) , the goblin mounds (avalible at level 12), and save or exit game.

You are able to enter the Forest at level 8. Here you can learn new guild skills at the guild. You can also buy weapons and armour from Shortlegs Smithy . We do not suggest selling or identifing anything here, it is not cost effective. You can also continue your journey to the Fenris Mountains or return to the fields. You can exit/save the game from the forest as well.

The Castle and its courtyard. To get into the castle you have to get past the castle guard (must be level 6 or higher). Either bribe the castle guard with marks until he lets you in, or buy a castle permit for 800 marks, or kill or mesmerize the guard. Buying a castle permit is the easiest access (though it is only a one time use permit) and allow you to enter the clan hall, dragon guard, post office queens court and dungeons. You can create, join, quit, or disband a clan at clan hall. Send and recieve DCmail at the post office. Perform missions at the dragon guard and quest in the dungeons though should be near level 14 to survive attacks. Accessing the royal court is required to gain rank and favor. For this buy a catsle permit and perform the Queens Folly Mission at the Dragon Guard. Once completed you will recieve the unicorn pendant, this will get you great favor with the queen and you will then be able to petition her for rank. This will cost several thousand marks (5000) and you must be level 15. Or you could quest at the docks where you can meet enemies from Hie Brasil (I don't recommend going to Hie Brasil until level 16) or Shangala (which you shouldn't go to until level 18 ) or just quest at the normal old docks. Also, to get to Hie Brasil or Shangala you need rutters to go there.

Fenris Mountains can be entered at level 11, though you may find your heroe unable to survive at that level. The mountains are very dangerous and caution should be heeded. Rope is required to quest in the Fenris Mountains and can be obtained at the trader shop in town or from certain creaturres. Rope can also be eaten by creatures so bring a good amount. Here you can go to the magic shop where you can buy srcolls, gems and gold apples which are definately something to have in your backpack. We recommend selling gems only here, adequate gems can be obtained by questuing through out the game. Be very wary of the abandon mines This is where the dragons live. Level 21 and a couple ieatsu and berzerk under your belt will help you survive the massive hits of damage he deals out.

Goblin Mounds can be entered at level 12, though again a hero may not be ready to survive at lower expierance level. From inside you can stop in at the Gobble Inn where you may shop, though we recommend shopping elswhere unless your in a pinch. You can and must buy maps from the Gobble Shop though to access the Warrens and thus gain maps for the throne room and treasure vault as well. It is here the Vortex is hidden as well, though a hero should be a level 20 at least before he takes on evil fred.

To hire a boart that will take a heroe either to shangala or hie brazil or azteca a hero must be level 20.

MORE TO COME

Joining a Clan

You must be at least level six, have at least 1000 marks, and be able to get past the outer castle guard. This can be done by purchaisng a castle permit in the trader shop. Use this permit to get past the first castle guard and make sure you still have 1 quest left and 1000 marks. Enter the clan hall , here type in the name of the clan you wish to join and enter seek. (THE GATHERING) The clan leader , number of clansmen, clan abilities and power will appear below.

Check the box "join" and the one below " make it so - join". Click "petition to join". A grant to join will be sent to the post office where you may "take" your mail. (Again you must get past the first castle guard to be able to get into the post office. ) This will be added to your backpack. Return to the clan hall and open your backpack to first select then "use" the grant. You will automatically be joined to the clan at this point and recieve any of its benefits.

Many of the DC Clans have web pages that members can access and use to communicate with their clan regarding help with the game. Many of the clans also participate in freeform play by post roleplaying as well and newly joined clan members are encouraged to check out their new clan's web sites.

ATTAINING RANK

The Following lists the ranks per last update with theminimum level and est. favor needed. Higher ranked members provide clans more power than lower ranked members, each member's rank giving a certain amount of power points to each clan.

Rank Favor Level
0 Peasant/Peasant 0 0
1 Squire/Lady 100 6
2 Knight/Dame 300 8
3 Captain/Amazon 600 10
4 Baron/Baroness 1000 12

GUILD SKILLS

Guild skills are obtain at the guild in the forest with the exception of the Ieatsu skill which is learn later when traveling to Shangala. A heor must first join the guild for 4000 Marks and then purchase each guild skill individully. The price of skills goes up with each learned skill. The first skill cost 1000 marks and the second 2000 and so on. Guild skills benefit heroes in various ways and heros may have twice their level in number of guild skils to be learned. For example a level 12 hero may have no more than 24 skills.

The Fighter Guild skill adds one attack, and grants the use of berserk during battle. When learning this skill the heor will lose 2 wits and 2 charm for each fighter skill.

The Mage Guild skill grants the use of Hypnosis, and allows the use of jewels. Quartz with 2 skills, opal with 4, garnet with 6, emerald with 8, ruby with 10, turquois with 12, and diamond with 14. See the stones uses listed above for the affects. This also increases one skill for each guild skill learned. This will cost the hero 2 guts and 2 charm for each mage skill learned.

The Trader Guild Skill adds one defense per skill, grants the use of Backstab and Swindle. If the hero chooses to run away during battle it doesn't take up a quest. This will take 2 guts and 2 wits for each trader skill learned.

The Sage Skill automatically "forsees" a mezmerize, backstab or swindle, or an ieatsu during battle and prevents damage to the hero. It will take 2 guts 2 wits and 2 charm from the hero each time the sage skill is learned.

The Ieatsu skill is the only skill not learned at the guild. It is learned later in shangala from the Samurai. When you can obtain a Bushido token and attempt to "give bushido token" to the Samurai he may teach a Ieatsu skill. This will take 3 guts 32 wits and 3 charm per each skill learned.

Weapons in Dragon Court

It is argued that rust is one of the biggest problems for heores. Rust may be avoided with practiced daily care for your weapons. Applying a oil of some kind will protect your weapon from rust for the entire day untill next refresh. Further protection may be bought from the queen. A minor queens blessing will priotect the items you are wearing for 1 day and a major blessing will protect the items you are wearing for 2 days and your pack for 1 day.
